GENOME ESSENTIALS: qPCR & WHOLE GENOME SEQUENCING HANDS-ON WORKSHOP 2026
The Centralized Lab Management Centre (CLMC), UniSZA, is pleased to invite researchers, lecturers, and postgraduate students to participate in the Genome Essentials: qPCR & Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) Hands-On Workshop 2026.
This two-day intensive workshop is designed to provide participants with comprehensive exposure to both the theoretical foundations and practical applications of quantitative PCR (qPCR) and Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS), covering laboratory techniques, troubleshooting, data interpretation, and advanced genomic data analysis.

Day 2 – Dry Lab Session
- Introduction to Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS)
- Database Navigation (NCBI, BV-BRC & KBase)
- Advanced WGS Data Analysis
- Phylogenetic Tree Construction & Genome Comparison
